Sit and Get Fit

Twice a week, Monday and Thursday at 9:30 AM, we have Sit and Get fit exercise class. The first half of the program is aerobic exercises with music through the ages, followed by a weight routine. You can bring your own hand-held weights or use some we have available for participants. These exercises not only work your body, but your mind, because you keep changing pattern routines during each of the exercises. No matter your level of fitness, you will find a person in the video whose speed and intensity you can follow, and it all is done from the comfort and security of a chair. The best part is the fellowship we have developed with one another. It's a wonderful way to start the day building your body, mind and spirit.

Bunco

Once a month on Sunday afternoon, we meet from 3:00PM to 5:30 PM to play Bunco. We all
bring a savory or sweet snack to share. This is a great way to get to know each other since we wear name tags and move around the room after each round is completed. The game is pure chance....there is no skill or strategy needed. We share lots of laughs, and we have 4 winners each month, one prize is for the one with the most lost rounds. Where can you go where the loser even gets a prize? This is a time of friends, fun and food.

Joy Lunch

Another once a month activity is our JOY luncheon. The second Tuesday of each month, seniors from our church family and community get together to hear a program at 11am, and lunch is served at noon. The meal costs only $6.00 and it includes, entree, dessert and drinks, - you can't beat the price. We also celebrate birthdays and anniversaries of those who attend the meeting. We have a variety of programs from, music groups or individuals, information from the police, fire department, and EMS workers, trip slide shows that people have taken, and the favorite Kentucky Derby Day in May, when we
wear our fancy Facinator hats. There is comedy, sing-alongs, informative programs for senior adults, and hands on crafts or activities during the year. Join us and bring a friend.

Painting with Friends

If you have an artistic flair, we offer a time at least once a month for those interested in painting to come together and paint with friends. We have acrylic or watercolor paint to use, along with easels, canvases, and brushes for new painters to try out this skill. We are all at different skill levels so we learn things and share information with one another in this small group setting. You can bring your own supplies, or use the supplies we have to offer to those who have never painted before. Our supplies include, acrylic and watercolor paints, bushes, easels and canvases. Occasionally we have a step by step video we use for class, stopping the video periodically for painters to catch up with the instructions given. Currently we provide the supplies at no charge allowing individuals to try their hand at this fun activity. Watch the church website for painting day dates. We meet on a Tuesday, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall.

Tuesday Senior Adult Bible Study Groups

Men's and ladies Bible Studies meet every Tuesday. The men meet at 8:00 AM in the fellowship hall, and the ladies meet at 10:00 AM in the Inspiration Class room. Both groups will occasionally go out to eat before or after their Bible Study to share a meal together.

Senior Adult Trips

One of our best activities are our Senior Adult Trips. We take a bus load up to Riverside Performing Arts Center 2-3 times a year to see different plays on their Season Schedule. We always do the Christmas show, and we will choose another 1 or 2 plays, to go to Fredericksburg to enjoy lunch and the show. We also take longer overnight trips. For example we have gone to the Ark Encounter, and Creation Museum in Kentucky, and to Lancaster to the Sights and Sound Theater, Bird-in-Hand Theater and Buffet and other local attractions in the Lancaster area. The fellowship is amazing and we can't stop laughing and eating as we enjoy the trip.

Come and check us out! You will be so happy that you did!
